Edith Medina (Ciudad de México, 1979)
Su trabajo se desarrolla a partir de procesos biológicos tomando al cuerpo como entidad orgánica sujeta a construcciones sociales, sus temáticas involucran tópicos vinculados a lo social, íntimo y emocional. Hace uso del proceso como catalizador ya sea a partir de experimentos y experiencias en las que la ciencia, la tecnología y la biología juegan un papel importante. Actualmente trabaja con experimentación biomaterial en los campos del diseño, el arte y la ciencia.
Pionera en el campo del bioarte en México, es artista-investigadora, curadora y docente de temas vinculados a diversos campos de la relación arte-ciencia-sociedad.
Ha sido becada en dos ocasiones en las áreas de investigación por el Programa de Apoyo a la Producción e Investigación en Arte y Medios (2010/2014) del Centro Multimedia del Centro Nacional de las Artes en México. Actualmente forma parte del Consejo Curatorial del Festival Internacional de Artes Electrónicas y Video, TransitioMX y es Directora de Regiones en Expansión: Plataforma de Investigación y Educación en Arte, Ciencia y Cultura Digital.

Her works with biological processes taking the body as organic entity subject to social constructions, her thematics is about the relation between social, intimate and emotional topics. She uses the process as a catalyst from experiments and experiences where science and biology play an important role. Currently her work explores the biomaterial experimentation, showing a special interest in the interaction between art, design and science.
Is a pioneer in the bio-art in Mexico and artist-researcher, curator and professor of topics related of art-science-and society.
She had in twice ocasions the fellowship Support Program Production and Research in Art and Media (2010, 2014) of the Multimedia Center of the National Arts Centre in Mexico. At present she is part of the Curatorial Council of the International of Electronic Arts and Video Festival, TransitioMX and Director of Expansion Region: Platform for Research and Education in Arts, Science and Digital Culture.
